One such SKU was the Alienware m17 R5 featured top-shelf hardware including CherryMX key switches and was one of the few all-AMD gaming laptops out there. Now, the laptop has received a massive discount on Dell’s website.
The Alienware m17 R5 with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and Radeon RX 6850M XT graphics card (12 GB VRAM) can be purchased on Dell’s website for US$1,675.79- remarkably lower than its launch price of US$2,250. One has to use two stackable coupons, “AWSMITE09” and “ARMMPPS”, at checkout. It is important to note the offer is only valid for the next 48 hours. Other specs include a 17.3-inch 4K (3,840 x 2,160) 120 Hz panel, 32 GB of 4,800 MT/s DDR5 memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD.
Our in-depth review of the Alienware m17 R5 determined it to be a powerful machine hamstrung by drivers. Thankfully, AMD has come a long way since then, and the RDNA 2-based RX 6850M XT should perform much better. One can also use third-party tools such as Radeon Monster Profile to extract more performance out of their GPU.
